The reality in 2011 is that many churches in America are simply carnal -fleshly and worldly.
How is this possible? We substitute God's Word for man's opinions. We quench His Spirit with our fear and insecurities. We pander to the masses and give them what they want, versus the truth of Scripture that will set them free. We fear man versus obeying God. We bask in self promotion instead of exalting God and His glory. We teach that church is about us, instead of worshipping the King of Kings and Lord of Lord's Jesus the Christ. We communicate that God is a cosmic genie who is here to grant our every wish, instead of us being the willing bondservants as He leads and we follow. We say that we are a Christian nation, but we are not. We say that we have strong committed churches to the Lord, but we do not. We do have strong committed churches, but mostly we are strong and committed to the things that we desire and want.
The reality is that we are all to some extent selfish, prideful, and carnal and all of us (myself included) need to repent.
Is God really pleased with the carnal American church in 2011?

Powerful Sermon! Brother Jon gives us an honest, intense analysis of where our Church is today and this message will never be preached in 90% of our Churches. And the shame of that is that most people in the congregations are at the carnal level of understanding the Gospel. They may read the Holy Bible on Sunday, but never study the Scriptures throughout the week. Only by studying and understanding God's message can we grow in Jesus Christ and become more like Him.
Thank you Christ Jesus for dying for our salvation.
