Everybody is driven by something. What is the driving force in your life? Right now you may be driven by a problem, pressures or a deadline. You may be driven by a painful memory, a haunting fear, or an unconscious belief. There are hundreds of values, emotions and circumstances that can drive your life. Here are some of the most common Improper Motivations for life:
1. Some people are hounded by guilt.
2. Some people are driven by anger.
3. Some people are motivated by materialism.
4. Some people are prodded to get approval.
All of these forces can improperly drive your life; if you do not have a scriptural foundation you will have motion without meaning, and activity without direction leading ultimately to an unfulfilled life. That is why it is critical for us to identify and pursue Biblical Objectives for life.
1. Knowing God gives meaning to your life.
2. Doing God's will simplifies your life.
3. Studying the Word focuses your life.
4. Walking in the Spirit blesses your life.
God wants you to pass this final exam, so He has given the two most important questions to us in advance. What did you do with my son, Jesus Christ? That is not a question about religious background or doctrinal viewpoint. But did you accept Christ as Savior and Lord? Secondly, What did you do with what I gave you? Gifts, talents, opportunities, relationships, resources did you spend them on your self or did you use them for God's purposes? The first question determines where you will spend eternity; the second will determine what you will do in eternity.
