Gavin says, "one uses the 4 holy Gospels to better understand the rest of Holy Scripture, and also one uses the rest of Holy Scripture to better understand the 4 holy Gospels. And in the holy Gospels...Christ upholds the 1st, 2nd, & 10th Commandments...against lust idols when he saith in St. Matthew 6:24, 'No man can serve two masters… . Ye cannot serve God & mammon.' And … in the Epistles the Apostle Paul … in Ephesians 5:5...no 'covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.' …And drunkenness & drugs are examples of lust idols contrary to the Biblical teaching of 'temperance' in Acts 24:25; Galatians 5:23; & II Peter 1:6. In Matthew 24:37 & 38 Christ forewarns that 'as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be' with respect to 'drinking;' & in Matthew 24:49 he further condemns 'the drunken'." And "there are a variety of different species of witchery, but one form…is…drugs. In Galatians 5:20,21, we are told that those in the deadly sin of 'witchcraft…shall not inherit the kingdom of God;' & the Greek word here…pharmakeia…related to…'pharmacy'…relates to historical usage of drugs by witches, e.g., an aphrodisiac would go under the name of 'a love potion;' &…a 'drugs trip' would be…witchery telling someone…he was going on a magical trip." "Now the primary issue…in this Part B is the issue of drugs, with some lesser reference to drunkenness…an egregious violation of the 1st, 2nd, & 10th Precepts of the Moral Law." And "in...the context of daily Bible study & prayer...I am recommending daily recitation of both The Lord's Prayer & the Apostles' Creed, & regularly going through...the 10 Commandments."
