Pilate found no fault in Jesus but sent the case to Herod. Herod was a coward with a disposition to evil. He granted the head of John the Baptist. We are reminded that curiosity in religious things does not come near the truth. Superstition gives way to skepticism. We see out Lord answering Herod not a word and are encouraged to take care and appreciate the Word and that knowledge without grace is wickedness.
