Psalm 116 is a beautiful Psalm describing our reciprocation of God's love toward us. We love Him because He first loved us. As we turn the pages of the Bible to the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul addresses a similar idea. For the first 11 chapters of Romans, the Apostle lays the foundation of the gospel of God (1:1). The gospel of God is centered in the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. He states in Romans 1:3-5, "Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: 5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:" The gospel rightly understood is all about Jesus and leads his people from all nations to a lifestyle of obedience to God's Word for the glory of His great name. After laying the foundation of the gospel, the Apostle moves from the doctrine of the gospel to the practice of the gospel. Basically, he calls for God's people to consider the great benefits of the gospel and consider how the Roman saints will live before God. This morning, we are going to focus on Romans 12:1-2. We are familiar with these verse, but we want to reexamine and be reminded of gospel truths which leads to gospel transformation. Are you all in?
