It is the fruit of a new birth that the Holy Spirit works in our hearts. After salvation, we receive a new compass in our lives. Everything gravitates towards God. We are concerned about God’s will, His ways, and learning more about Him. Repentance is a turning from sin to God. Our attitude towards sin changes.There are several facets of repentance. First, we will be genuinely sorry that we have sinned against God. Second, there is a loathing over sin and a hatred of it. There will be a pain in our soul. This produces a grief over our sin and a rejoicing and gratitude for God's forgiveness. Then, there is a forsaking of sin. This is the evidence of repentance. When you are truly grieved over sin, you stop doing it.Acts 2:38 (NKJV) – “Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.â€
