The Word of God is Living and Active
The Five āRestsā of Hebrews 4: Godās rest on the 7th Day (4, 10) Israelās rest in Canaan (2, 3, 7, 8) Israelās rest in Davidās time (Psalm 95:7b-11) (5-7) Our rest now (3, 10) Our rest in glory (9. 11)
Main Idea: Let us strive to enter Godās rest because of God and His Word
ā¢ Because the word of God is living and active (12)
ļ It is sharper than any two-edged sword
ļ It is penetrating
ļ Can separate soul and spirit
ļ Can separate joints and marrow
ļ It is discerning of the thoughts and intents of our hearts
ā¢ Because God is knowledgeable of our sin (13)
ļ No creature is hidden from His sight
ļ All are naked and exposed to the Judge
