The Apostle Peter experienced many spiritual highs and lows, and God was able to deliver him. Many of the things Peter experienced can apply to us, and there's much that we can glean from Peter's experiences. Peter was a target of Satan, and Satan used Herod to vex, kill, and imprison believers. After being imprisoned, Peter was awoken by a spiritual messenger who smote him and raised him up. Like Peter, we can also find ourselves deeply slumbering in a darkened prison, in need of light, perhaps being smote, and raised up. Even after Peter was loosed from his shackles he was still in prison. To escape, the Apostle still needed to gird himself, bind his sandals on his feet, cast on his garment and then follow the angel. |
