Mt. Ebal , Mt. Gerizim, HELP IN HIGH PLACES_08PT2 One Mount was a blessing and the other Mount was a Curse. As a nation and as individuals, we need to put our Confidence, security in the Lord if we are going to keep HIM at the center of our lives and our nation. Joshua served God because it was his conviction. He was committed to the Lord. We are to mirror that same commitment if we are to keep the Lord at the center of our lives. If the Lord is to be at the center of your life, then stop worrying about being popular with the world. If you are going to live a Christ-centered life, then never forget that there are consequences to sinful choices. You do reap what you sow. We would do well to learn from the blunders of Achan, David, Samson, Jonah, Absalom, Nebuchadnezzar, and many others that we know that have scarred their lives by sin. May their mistakes keep us closer to the Lord and keep Him at the center of our lives. There are curses at work in our lives and being Christ centered gets us out from under those curses to live under God's blessings.
