So many come so close but close doesn't cut it. Here we see in this passage that one little letter in our 26 letter alphabet cost this man his life. So close yet so far away. How many of us have come close to deliverance but fell short? When God comes to deliver don't look back like Lot's wife did. She was so close to deliverance but looked back. Don't be close get over; take that last step to get what God has for us. The rich young ruler of Luke 18 tried to judge his position in eternity by his position in this life but he lacked one thing. He was close to discovery of a better life. His curiosity came close, he stepped on the very door step of heaven. He was close; how close are we? You are either in all the way or out all the way. This rich young ruler even knew the word of God but didn't know God. Some are like Ananias and Sapphira close in our worship but holding back a little seeking the whole glory. God says close doesn't cut it; their honesty was close but not all that it should have been. Even Judas came oh so close to deity and still betrayed Jesus, betrayed himself having split hell wide open. Judas was pretending to be something he wasn't. how many are pretending to be Christians, wearing the Christian ‘look'; singing in the choir, giving tithes, every moment possible in church? Close, but close doesn't cut it. It's time to be in all the way and stop being close.
