In the centre of fallen human history, the light of God has appeared to destroy the kingdom of darkness. He was born into a world of great darkness and fear where sin and death reigned. The One who said 'Let there be light' in the beginning has demonstrated his absolute power through the weakness of a crucified messiah to turn our hearts from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. The birth of Messiah spelt doom for the kingdom of darkness and breathed terror into every demonic power. As we follow the Son of God, we do not walk in darkness but have the light of life. We need not be overcome by the evil and terrors of this world because the true light is already shining, and the darkness is passing away. No matter how dark this world appears this is our confidence through Christ.
