For the evening we take up the fifth commandment from a unique perspective. Proverbs 23.22 has something to say about how (adult) children should respect elderly parents. The command to honor father and mother does not have an expiration date, but when our parents become elderly (or when we do!) new challenges confront living out the 5th commandment. This important Biblical truth needs to be proclaimed in this day of euthanasia and "assisted suicide." For this sermon too ask the Lord to prepare your heart in hearing His preached Word.
