God called Ezekiel to be faithful to His Word, to be faithful to deliver God's message to his own people, and to be faithful to the message (which was full of lamentation and judgment). He was to continue to be faithful in the midst of great suffering, declaring God's message of judgment to a people who had already experienced much judgment.
Ezekiel tasted the sweetness of God's Word. He was obedient to God's command--and obedience to God is success. We must think of the Word of God as being more essential to life than feeding our faces. The Word of God sustains your soul. Devour it. Consume it. Feed on it. It will govern your thoughts--you are what you eat.
