You may be able to enjoy dancing, but you don't get Jesus. You may enjoy good music, but do you get Jesus? You may find marriage a great institution, but do you get Jesus?
Believers and unbelievers can both enjoy many things, yet one thing you will not understand if you are not regenerated is exactly what Christians see in Jesus. Why is He so important? How is it that they can use up so much energy finding out more about Him? How can they see Him as so important? How can they stake so much on the honour of this carpenter's son, Jesus?
A Christian may answer; there is no-one more exalted than Jesus, He reigns at the pinnacle of glory. Yet, while you can't find anyone higher than Jesus, neither can you find anyone lower than Jesus who completely meets your real needs.
Imagine a colony of ants. One ant works really hard and builds a bigger anthill than any of the other ants, and he does it alone. Then, because he has excelled beyond any of the other ants, he begins to feel important and starts bossing the other ants around. That is how we are as humans. Yet Jesus, who cannot be more important, comes into this world in pursuit of the blessing of His people, and makes Himself the most humble man ever to walk this earth!
