Peter offers the promise of the gospel to his immediate hearers, their children, and those who are “far off”. We examine why Peter’s words offer no support for a paedo-Baptist theology, but are words of tremendous encouragement to his hearers who have cursed their own seed (Matthew 27:25), and offers hope to anxious parents, and to churches in our day who long for a succeeding generation. The expression “those who are far off” means not only those in remote locations, but those whose hearts are in a far country.
