John 5:17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Jesus Christ had just healed a man who couldn't walk for 30 years and was at the pool to get healed. Jesus healed one man that day. Jesus didn't just heal him; He told the man to get up and bring his bed with him. 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. The Jews want to kill Jesus Christ because He claims to be equal with God. 19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things so ever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. Listen up! Pay close attention whenever a statement is started with “verily, verily”. This means the following is very important. Jesus was here to show us who the Father is. He showed the Father in his life, statements, and behavior. He says He looks to the Father for guidance. 20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. Jesus said if you think you've seen something great now, just wait. Greater things are coming that will blow your mind. 21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. “Quickeneth” means “make alive; bring to life”. Jesus didn't bring all the dead back to life. He just picked a few. 22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: At work when you have a confrontation with a coworker, always remember how Jesus.... |
