This message was given by Pastor Jonathan Stobbs as he continued his evening ministry in the Book of 1 Samuel. Saul had failed terribly in this whole situation, his lack of faith had been revealed, and he had disregarded the leading of the Lord, and followed his own way. This had seen the beginning of his ruin. In this message Saul’s failure is considered, and how it also describes the sad situation of the army of Israel. This reveals the poor and unspiritual leadership of Saul. Saul had walked by sight, displayed little faith, but Jonathan will walk by faith, and how the Lord will use Him! Saul’s poor leadership had lead the army to be placed in a difficult and divided situation. A loss of key principles, had left the army facing a number of problems. In this way, Pastor Stobbs relates this situation to the current state of the church, and how increasingly the movement away from biblical principles with a God-centred focus has left the 'church' weakened and anything but giving glory to God.
