In a culture literally drowning in an ever deepening sea of newly created and vigorously defended 'rights' (animal rights, gay rights, abortion rights, etc., etc.) it is helpful for Christians to remember that while we are people who have genuine God given rights we are not called to assert them, but rather are called to die to self and rather give place to others in order that we might be used in their salvation.
