Jonah greatly suffered for his disobedience. Most likely, he died in the belly of the fish. Yet, he did three invaluable things. First, he looked to the Temple, which is a type of Christ. As all Old Testament saints he understood deliverance was in the coming Christ. Secondly, he responded not in bitterness or blame but thanksgiving. Thirdly, he confessed the obvious, "salvation is of the Lord". He believed in sovereign grace.
