Today we resume our study of 1 Thessalonians. We will address all of chapter 3:1-13. In chapter 2 Paul had described his past ministry when he was among the Christians at Thessalonica; in chapter 3 he described his present concern and ministry to them from a distance. In today’s notes we also give an extended treatment of the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints, the biblical and reformed teaching that a true believer cannot lose his salvation, but is eternally secure in Jesus Christ.
