The word “prayer” is used twice in vv. 14, 24. It is, I believe, the first time we see Christ’s disciples praying together. Up to this time, they were encouraged to pray and we learn of Christ praying repeatedly but this seems to be the first time we read of them praying together. M. Henry said, “All God’s people are praying people, and give themselves to prayer.” I wonder how much Judas prayed and did he enjoy or participate in Christ’s prayers?
