"Blessed" Romanist Cardinal John Henry Newman, (1801 to 1890) affected England's history. Among Newman's many damnable errors was teaching physical objects became God Himself, particularly items used in the eucharistic Roman rites during their "Mass." Newman's "beatification" (declaring a dead person a saint worthy of prayers) was officially proclaimed by Pope Benedict XVI in 2010 during his visit to the United Kingdom. Full sainthood is dependent on documentation of additional "miracles." John Newman was originally an evangelical Oxford academic and priest in the Church of England but later became a leader in the Oxford Movement. This influential grouping of Anglicans wished to return the Church of England to many Catholic beliefs and forms of worship traditional in the medieval times to restore ritual expression. In 1845 Newman left the Church of England and was received into the Roman Catholic Church where he was eventually granted the rank of cardinal by Pope Leo XIII. He was instrumental in the founding of the Catholic University of Ireland, which evolved into University College, Dublin, today, the largest university in Ireland.

These means, taking the form of outward rituals and other religious paraphernalia, fall under the Second Commandment. Even a simple overview of the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) on the Lord's supper shows that the RCC is no exception. Because the Roman Catholic Church promotes a false gospel.
