"The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him." —Ezra 8:22
Because the hand of God was upon Ezra and His people, they obtained from God the very thing they needed. The plain and simple lesson from Ezra's oft-repeated expression of "the hand of our God" is that the way to secure whatever blessing on your life that you're seeking from God is to have His hand upon you. Two questions arise: 1) What is the hand of the Lord? and 2) Why has God used this particular metaphor to teach us about its connection with His blessing.
