How do you respond when people hurt you? Do you become angry and better? In this expository sermon Dr. Felker shares how we can avoid becoming bitter when people hurt us. First, understand that bitterness begins with the wrong response to our hurts. We jump to conclusions without knowing all the facts and we fail to remember the kind of God we have. Secondly, place those who have hurt you in God's hand to either change them by his grace or deal with them in judgment. After testing his brothers, Joseph could see that they were sorry for their sin and had become changed man, laying the foundation for reconciliation. Finally, bitterness ends with forgiveness that is demonstrated by goodness, affection, and restored fellowship. NOTE: The video of this sermon has an audio lag but includes a PowerPoint.
