There is a lot of worship confusion today. How should we worship God? Some argue for what is called the normative principle, which means that if God hasn't forbidden something, it's fair game to include it in worship. With this view, the sky's the limit since worship is limited only by your own imagination. But the Bible teaches something else, which we call the regulative principle. The regulative principle simply means that God regulates his own worship. If God hasn't revealed something, then it is forbidden. Only what he has revealed is permitted. Tonight we'll explore God's divinely revealed pattern of worship in Leviticus 9, the account of the inaugural tabernacle service.
