Just because you go through a storm doesn't mean you are not in God's will. Because sometimes the will of God is in the very middle of the dark storm. Satan will be in your ear telling you that you wouldn't be struggling if you were right with God or you'd be better off if you were right with God. If you were in God's will you'd be okay. Well, Paul was in God's will here in the worst storm he'd ever been in. There are some storms that last a lot longer than a weekend. Some storms are worse than a stubbed toe. Storms that are a little darker than others. But just because the storm rages doesn't mean God ain't there! There is hope as long as you got Jesus. No matter how dark and thundering it gets, Jesus is still on the throne. Never forget what God has promised you. God doesn't promise us something and forget to carry it out in the future. He's doing with us the whole way. He never promised us a stormless life. There are something's we need to go through so we know that God really is all we got. Never forsake what God has provided us. In the text some wanted to abandon ship but the ship is where the safety was to be found. Don't let the storm drive you from God. The house of God is a shelter in the storm; the world don't want you, but God does. And never fight what God has planned for you. Sometimes storms are the only motivator God has for us. What should we do in the storm? Cling to God.
