Too many people don’t grasp the overwhelming scope of God’s forgiveness. We battle with ourselves and it weakens our faith. Get over yourself.
The essence of faith is to believe that Jesus is enough. That He is sufficient entirely for your salvation. That is trusting in Him. Trusting in anything else for salvation, including trusting in yourself, is not trusting in Jesus The problem with focusing on sin is that we end up focusing on sin. Be aware of sin, be repentant of sin, and move on from that sin. Focus on Jesus.
We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19 KJV
What a simple verse, but it doesn’t mean that we love Him in response to His love for us, it means even our ability to love Him comes from Him. We would not even have the opportunity to love Him apart from His making the first move. Salvation begins and ends with Jesus.
I am going to show you three of my favorite words.
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished : and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30 KJV
It is finished
One of the most beautiful phrases ever uttered. Three simple words. It is finished. God’s plan to redeem mankind. Thousands of years of hopelessness and despair. Now, redemption has come.
So what did He mean by “It is finished?” It is not just “I pulled off the whole sacrificial lamb thing”
Very cool. The Greek that the phrase is translated from is tetelestai, an accounting term that means “paid in full.” The sin debt of mankind was paid in full.
