The giving of God's law to Moses was glorious. Moses' face was radiant when he descended Mt. Sinai with God's commandments. But the law cannot save us---it can only reveal our sin. Without the power of the Holy Spirit, it leads only to death. Paul affirms, if the ministry of the law (which could lead only to death) was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry of the Spirit, which leads to life! This passage includes the wonderful verse: "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the spirit of the Lord."
