For the past few years, we have been working our way through the book of the prophet Isaiah. We are presently in the final section of the prophet's work - chapters 56-66. Here Isaiah is given a vision of the future glory of the church brought about by the work of the Messiah. At the end of this "Sermon Notes" section, is an outline overview to assist you in seeing the big picture of Isaiah 65-66 - the final portion of this section. We are looking at these chapters under the heading: The Prayer for Jerusalem Answered" based upon Isaiah 62:7 where the prophet exhorts the people to give God no rest until he makes Jerusalem the praise of the all the earth.
To assist us in preparing to study these final chapters of Isaiah's work we are taking a few studies to look at some key New Testament texts. These texts, found in places like Paul's letter to the Romans, the Gospel of Luke, and the book of Acts, we hope will provide us with the tools we need to properly understand the writings of the prophet at the end of his letter.

I did my graduate work at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary...
