As his life comes to an end, Jacob continues to make covenant arrangements in Egypt before his death. In Genesis 48, Joseph receives a double portion of blessing both in the allotment of the tribes and a piece of land in Canaan. Jacob adopts both Ephraim and Manasseh to be his sons and then blesses both of them but giving greater blessing to the younger Ephraim. This is once again a reminder of God's faithfulness to bring His plan in His way.
