Chapter 15 is this majestic confident confession of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave and with it a boast in our bodily resurrections one day by Jesus Christ. Here are sweeping and hopefully declarations of the glory that is yet to come; a vision cast into the hope of eternal heaven. At the end you should expect Paul to break out in a doxology of praise. Instead he makes this application. Set this hope at the foundation of your Christian life and work and then get to work all the more aggressively. Now in this there is this wonderful encouragement to the church in Corinth. Throughout Paul's letter he has been correcting them--taking them to task any number of sins and weaknesses and failures in their midst. And yet be that as it is--Paul draws to the end with an invitation of grace for the Corinthians to continue on in the work of the Church. God doesn't exclude us from the mission of service to Him because we fail and falter.
