Well Put! Rock music was born of rebellion and communicates rebellion. It might even have been a product of apostasy, if one were to trace its roots to the turn of the 20th century.
Whatever the case, the horses mouths of rock and roll (IE the rock stars , producers, promoters etc)have always maintained its rebellious, sexual and in some cases admittedly pagan or occultic nature. But the "wise" Christians of the post modern era have managed to apologetically rationalize the horses mouths away. For every sound principle that the dtractors of rock and roll put forth, there is a carefully crafted and rationalized defense for its usage in the church. And it is sad to see how it has infected Calvinistic churches as well. How I long for period of true revival, where the extraordinary movement of the Spirit will not only sweep many into the kingdom but will open the eyes of undiscerning Christians to what they have allowed to dwell in Christ's holy church. Maybe then we will see the end of rock and roll in the church.
