The last couple of weeks we have been looking at prayer. Prayer starts in the life of believer with his new life from God. As a child, he sees God and cries out "Abba Father". Paul started his request to the Colossian Christians by asking them to continue in this prayer. It was to be a priority in life. This prayer was also to be earnest. It isn't some half-hearted attempt to follow God's command, but our heart's cry to our Father who is in charge of heaven and earth. We seek Him and His wisdom, we pray for His help and His strength. Lastly we looked at Paul's request of what they were to pray for. They were to pray that a door would be opened for Paul to preach the gospel and that he, Paul, would be able to make it manifest as he ought to. He was concerned with both the opportunity to preach the gospel and with having the right words as he pleaded with people to be reconciled with God. This focus on making God known takes him into this next section. He immediately turns to these Christians and tells them to watch how they walk and to redeem the time. Join us as we look at walking toward those who are still outside of Christ.
