Jesus stated clearly in this passage that there will be MANY at the judgment who thought they were saved, who called Jesus Lord, and who did many wonderful works in Jesus name, but who did not truly know Him. They are professors, but not true possessors of eternal life. Mere mental acknowledgement of the facts of the gospel does not save; true saving faith results in a transformed life. This powerful message gives several guideposts or elements of transformation whereby we can 'examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith' as Paul warned in 2 Corinthians 13:5. According to the Bible the following evidences should accompany salvation:
All truly Born-Again Believers are: 1. Resurrected from spiritual death to spiritual life 2. Indwelt by the Holy Spirit 3. Given New Spiritual Vision 4. Translated into God's kingdom (We are no longer of this world) 5. Given a New Nature
The Believer's New Nature will: 1. Love Jesus 2. Love the Word of God 3. Love other Christians 4. NOT love the world 5. Hate Sin
