"Past Curse to Future Blessing Through Present Obedience" is an appropriate title for this sermon.
This timeless truth is a great encouragement to us as well. Do we believe in God's future grace to make good on His covenantal promise to bless the obedience of His people?
Israel was thinking of giving up in the midst of their persecution from their enemies.
At just the right time, God reminds them that He will indeed bless their obedience in resuming work on His Temple. The land will bring forth its bounteous harvest once again, as it was when they first entered the promised land.
"Look back," says Yahweh, "to when you were cursed because of your disobedience. It was because of My faithfulness to punish you. But I am just as faithful to bless you as you walk in My ways."
He is saying the same to us in the church today. Is His arm too short to bless our obedience unto a fruitful harvest?
