The major reason for our salvation is to glorify and praise God. • The Spirit is given so we can know the will of God. There are visible manifestions of being filled with Spirit. It is a joy derived from God Himself that cannot be taken away from us unless we grieve the Spirit.
Visible manifestions: • Speaking outward joy to one another in a trinitarian set up (psalms, hymns, spiritual songs). • Singing inward joyfully to the Lord. • Not known as a complainer. • Always giving thanks to the Lord for everything. • Submission
God is not revolted by anything in us in Christ. He can't fight Himself. He is always for His children. He loves to please His children. A spirit-filled believer sees everything as coming from God and that it is good because He is good and is for us and helping us in all situations.
We must thank God in all of life's situations, both good and bad. Be thankful that you know God and that He is for you rather than be thankful for your property. As Americans we must be extra vigilant because we live in an entitlement society. It robs us of a thankful spirit to God. It inculcates a belief that we are entitled to things.
We must be experts in thankfulness in all things. Be characterized by thankfulness in all things. Like a good soldier willfully submit yourself to God. Recognize His providence in ALL of life's situations. It is time to be controlled by God's Spirit and not by your circumstances. It is time to serve God by enjoying Him and not things.
