God’s children increasingly act like their Father. And we are perhaps most like our Father when we forgive. Mercy is a prevailing vibe in God’s family. Yet we sometimes wonder… "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?” Matthew 18:21 (NKJV). Jesus answers that question with the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant. The story illustrates how Christ’s followers – liberated from their unpayable debt of sin – are to extend forgiveness to those who wrong them. Are you a forgiver? Just as our relationship with God is made right through forgiveness, so our relationships with others are kept right through forgiveness. We cannot enjoy others, or rightly represent our Father, while harboring a score-keeping spirit. In this message we will consider, “Imitating the Father.”
