Heb Vs1: Jesus Christ was made a high priest after the order Melchisedec, King of Salem, Priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the Kings and blessed him.
Genesis 14:18 is the setting of Abraham coming back from this battle. Salem means Peace, so City of Peace. This Melchisedec, King of Salem (Peace) is the priest of the Most High God (God Almighty) and this is the first place Melchisedec is mentioned. Abraham recognized that Melchisedec had an intimate relationship with God and gave him tithes. Melchisedec brought forth bread and wine, so he represents Christ in the Old Testament.
Psalms 110:4: The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent; Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek. There is a priesthood order of Melchisedec before Christ came to in the scene. We really know very little about this.
Heb Vs2: Melchisedec was king of righteousness, a king of peace, and a high priest. He instituted the relationship of King/Priest. Melchisedec had the attributes of Christ being pure and true. Vs3: Without father, without mother, Jesus came as prophet, priest, and king. Melchisedec is type of Christ, being a King Priest. But Melchisedec is not Jesus Christ. Melchisedec could've been a rare manifestation of Christ making a visit to mankind in the Old Testament. Vs4: even the patriarch Abraham gave tithe, a tenth of his spoils of war, recognizing the Godly relationship of this man Melchisedec and he .......
