Post-liberal theology seeks a middle way between the liberal and the conservative views of Scripture. It accuses both of trying to derive meaning from the text. The liberal, they accuse of trying to derive meaning behind the text while forsaking any possibility of historical reliability. They accuse the conservative of trying to impose their sense of objective morality on the text. The post-liberal is concerned with leaving the text alone and rather invites the Christian to take up the language of a Christian and live by the Christian code. But this movement doesn't call for repentance and change inside. All this is is an outward conformity to set of terminology and rules.
