Joseph's brothers had to tell their father Jacob of all of Joseph's glory in Egypt.
But God the Father already knows of His Son's glory, because Christ was perfectly obedient to Him, and the Father gave Jesus glory and honor and exaltation.
Christ's glory, as seen in this world, was His dying to save poor sinners. The Father and the Son both agreed upon and worked unto that end.
Christ testified to His glory, as did His Father. The Apostles proclaimed the glory of Jesus.
But all the saints also have the privilege and duty to testify to and praise Christ's glory!
We proclaim Christ's glory to the world, in the teeth of the wicked who revile our dear Savior. Indeed, we may face fiery trials, but that will only enhance our great joy when Christ's full glory is finally revealed.
When that final glory is revealed, our glorying in Christ will be vindicated against the cruel world, which spoke evil of Jesus.
The martyr Stephen is a great example of this. He testified to Christ's glory standing by the throne of God in Heaven! This drove his persecutors to murder Stephen.
To glorify Christ cost Stephen his very life, and yet that only will intensify Stephen's joy when Christ's glory is revealed and forced down the throats of his murderers.
Paul describes this same glorifying of Christ by His people in the face of persecution. He will come one day and take vengeance against His enemies and ours.
But Christ will be admired by His people, because we believed the testimony of Paul and those who preached the Gospel to us. They testified to Christ's glory, we believed their testimony, and one day we will see that glory in all its fullness!
