Beware: We are the most vulnerable and the most weak when things are going good. That's when confidence in our flesh takes hold. Pride begins to set in - even our spiritual pride. Hezekiah is prosperous in his physical health, in his possessions but it all went to his head. He forgot that the Lord ave him his good health and fine possessions and that it all belongs to God. When we lose focus of the fact that everything we have comes from the Lord, we start losing discernment, forgetting that we are unworthy of God's gift of health and possessions. Hezekiah did not see the pride in his heart but God had a word that put His finger on the places in Hezekiah's, and our, lives that need attention. In the end. he recognizes that, even if God takes away all he has given him, he knows that "it is not bad for me". The real gift of God is our salvation, not our possession. Hezekiah praises God for His mercy toward him.
