Hannah: From Desperation to Divine Purpose. 1 Samuel 3:1-13Hannah's journey to Shiloh began with deep anguish. She was barren and mocked by Peninnah, her husband's other wife, for her inability to have children. In Shiloh, she poured out her heart to God, making a vow that if He would give her a son, she would dedicate him to the Lord's service all the days of his life. Her fervent prayer was heard, and God blessed her with a son, Samuel. This was a significant answer to her personal cry for a child.Hannah kept her vow, bringing Samuel back to Shiloh after he was weaned. She dedicated him to the Lord's service under the care of Eli, the high priest. Samuel would grow up in the tabernacle, learning to serve God from a young age. Samuel would go on to become one of Israel's greatest prophets and judges. His leadership helped guide Israel through a critical time of spiritual and political transition, from the time of the judges to the establishment of the monarchy under King Saul and later King David.
