The Book of Habakkuk is the eighth book of the 12 minor prophets of the Bible. Habakkuk means to “embrace with affection.” The Book of Habakkuk can be divided into three sections: the Chaldean invasion of Israel, the doom of the Chaldeans, and then “the just shall live by faith.” Habakkuk was wrestling with a difficult issue: “If God is good, then why is there evil in the world?” God answers Habakkuk, and though Habakkuk doesn't fully understand the answers, he trusts God. Wiersbe has characterized Habakkuk as “From Worry to Worship;” and Lloyd-Jones as “From Fear to Faith.” In each of the books of the Minor Prophets, we find the historical, the prophetical, and the practical—how it applies to us. There are applications for Christian living throughout this rich study. The Minor Prophet Series are the in-depth type of teaching one might expect to receive while attending a seminary or Bible college. For best use in studying these series, please have your Bible open to the passages read. (The Minor Prophets teachings will be uploaded in sequence.)
