In Matthew 7:21 Jesus said, Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Mere talk, mere profession of knowing the Lord and being in God's kingdom is not enough. Our talk must be backed up by our walk. And we will only have a true walk with God if the power of God's Holy Spirit is at work in us to produce such a walk. In Philippians chapter two Paul spoke of their obedience and urged them to continue in their obedience while he was absent, for, as v. 13 says, it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. The Kingdom of God always comes with the power of God. It produces faith in the heart and repentance from sin. It brings about a change of heart and life.
