The claims of Jesus are such that He cannot be lumped into the category of guru or sage. On more than one occasion Jesus claimed equality with God separating Himself into an altogether different grouping. Others have made such claims and we dismiss them as madmen. So, we must decide what to do with Jesus. As C.S. Lewis so skillfully demonstrated, either Jesus was a liar (and we should dismiss Him entirely), or Jesus was a lunatic (and we should warn everyone to avoid His teaching) or He was truly the Lord of Heaven and Earth and we must bow to Him as King. Only a fool would dismiss a Man who makes such grandiose claims as merely a great human teacher.
