We are studying The Doctrine of The Church, specifically Church Polity meaning Church Governance.
Today we are introducing the idea of Biblical Eldership, which i have been studying a lot about recently as we are seeking to institute Biblical Eldership in our church. Follow along with me as I am teaching our congregation about the place and purpose of Biblically called Elders.
‎The foundation of the church is Christ, He is the Chief Cornerstone. ‎Then you see the Apostles, and next the Prophets of the Old testament. ‎All of whom were given to lead in the foundation of the church. ‎All of these men, had been given a role and function of leadership. ‎All of these men were specially called to this task and had to meet certain specific qualifications to be approved to that task. ‎We will look at those qualifications next week. ‎ ‎Alexander Strauch said in his book "Biblical Eldership" ‎Quote It is not enough merely to have a eldership; the eldership must be actively functioning, competent, and spiritually alive.
