“ Great Sermon! ” Thank you for your sermon! It was helpful, especially in evaluating a movie ("The Greatest Showman") about P.T. Barnum. Barnum has been lauded for having family-friendly entertainment, and "The Greatest Showman" has been highly recommended by some Christians. Being anxious to find out more about this movie, I watched a trailer and was surprised to see women immodestly dressed and sensual dancing. Your sermon confirmed my conviction that this kind of entertainment has no place in a Christian's life. As a Christian, I want entertainment that will help me focus on the Lord and worship Him in the beauty of holiness (Psalm 29:2). But this is not possible if I'm looking at women in clothing which exposes or draws attention to parts of the body that are sexually stimulating, especially when there is sensual dancing. But that's just one problem I have with the movie. Your sermon along with Robert W. Reed's sermon "Entertainment" helped me to see other problems and be more discerning in my choices for entertainment.

“ Thoughtful and Insightful. ” I appreciate how you defined the terms before getting into the message. This is a great challenge today, too many Christians feel like they are missing out on some part of life if they don't see the latest movie, television show, songs, etc.. If they could understand how, as you laid it out, worldliness defiles and destroys perhaps they would be less interested. The guidelines are great and "We don't need as much entertainment as we are inclined to think we do."The choice is clear, love God or love the world.
