It was as the Son of the Blessed that Jesus was rejected and crucified. Say what you may about Christ claim to be the Messiah during his earthly ministry or what the people's opinions was about such, in the end, this was not the point at which Jesus was rejected. In fact we find the people quite ready on more than one occasion to accept and declare him as their Messiah/ as their king/ even by force they would have done it. Make no mistake it wasn't as a Savior or Christ or Messiah that they couldn't/wouldn't receive him. It was the kind of Messiah that he declared himself to be: Not a saving man but a saving God. Not a human rescuer sent from God but a rescuer of humans who was God. That was the point where the Jews were unwilling to go.
