In our passage, the apostle Paul gives the church some instructions concerning the matter of "stewardship." All that we have been given as believers has come to us as a gift of grace from the hand of God. We don't really own anything. God owns it all - even us! So then, we are to consider ourselves as stewards of all that God has given us. I'm going to ask three questions this morning, that I hope to answer from our text of Scripture. The first thing we need to ask is: I. What is the Nature of our Stewardship? II. What Does the Lord Require of Stewards? III. How Is Our Stewardship to be Evaluated? Prayer: Lord, search my own heart and show me where I’m not pleasing in your sight. Forgive me for judging people and not examining my own heart. Help me to be ready for your return. And enable me to become an encourager of others and stop being a critic. Lord, when I stand before you on that final day, Lord I want to hear those words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Lord, others may not have noticed my service, but you have seen every cup of cold water given in your name. Dear God, please forgive me of my sins and create in me a clean heart. Renew a right spirit within me! Fill me with your Holy Spirit! In Jesus name, amen.
