Commission of sin is egregious because it does not accord with love. Every sin transgresses the Law of Love. God IS love, and love is the big thing in the Bible. The Lord of the universe Himself said that all the Law and the Prophets hinge on love for God and love for neighbor. Paul said love is the fulfillment of the Law. If you have love, you have everything; without it, you have nothing.
